Method 2: Put it in the Park Before Exiting

When to Use This Method: 

There is no specific time to use this method. It is used by many Tesla owners to turn off their cars.

  • You can do this by using a button at the end of your drive stalk.
  • The drive stalk is present on the right side of your steering wheel.

You can use this method when you want to sit inside the car and wait for some time. 

How Does it Work:

  • Upon reaching your destination, all you need to do is take your foot off the brake pedal.
  • Don’t interact with the touchscreen, windows, and doors of your Tesla.
  • After a sleep mode of 30 minutes, your Tesla will automatically turn off.

Drawbacks:

  • Your Tesla gets turned on as soon as you interact with it.
  • This method will not immediately turn off your Tesla.

Method 4: Use the Touchscreen

When to Use This Method: 

You can use this method while troubleshooting a problem or resolving a software glitch in your Tesla. This method immediately turns off your Tesla. 

How Does it Work:

  • Once you have reached the destination, let go of the brake pedal.
  • Now tap the controls icon on the bottom left of your Tesla’s touchscreen.
  • Next, you have to select the safety menu.
  • Here, you will see a power-off button.
